Naumi Hotels launches Naumi Humanity with “The Hope Tote”

Naumi Hotels launches its new Naumi Humanity initiative, ‘The Hope Tote’ this month, one of many initiatives behind the brand’s newly created CSR program, Naumi Humanity, spearheaded by Arshiya Jhunjhnuwala.

Naumi is a colourful, design and service-centric brand, that celebrates diversity, inclusion, equality, community and the planet. The aim for the program is to create a cycle of positive change through its work. As people are at the heart of Naumi Hotels, heart & humanity is at the centre of everything they do.

One of the key goals of Naumi Humanity is to help vulnerable and marginalised communities to break away from the poverty trap. With a focus on women and child food poverty, they are working to make a positive difference in the communities in which they operate. Every stay at a Naumi Hotel this year will help support a number of partner charities across New Zealand, Singapore, Australia & India, named below. By staying with Naumi Hotels each guest directly is contributing to the Naumi Humanity mission, as a portion of total revenue is donated.

This year, Naumi Humanity has partnered with womens’ organizations from low income slum communities in India to create “The Hope Tote” bag. The 20 female makers involved in producing the bag have the chance to up-skill through craft and through this employment are provided a vital way to supplement their household income. The Hope Tote Bag is now available for purchase for S$25 at any Naumi Hotel. All proceeds go to Naumi Hotels’ partner charities, further helping children in food poverty. Naumi Humanity will be launching further items with the same aim in the future.

Already, Naumi Humanity has achieved the following milestones in its infancy:

  • Fed over 250 children with a daily school meal within New Zealand, with partner charity KidsCan.

  • The food fortification of 100,000 children in India, supporting their nutrient component in partnership with the Global Development Group, support the project Nourishing Futures in Rajasthan implemented by the World Food Program.

  • Provided 13,000 meals for food insecure families in Singapore, with partner charity Willing Hearts, a volunteer-run non-profit.

  • Provided 20 women in India, living in slum communities with employment opportunities to increase their familial income.

  • Funding of two grants to the Singapore Institute of Technology to help students further their education and create future employment opportunities.

Naumi Humanity is working in conjunction with the following partner charities: Kidscan, Global Development Group and World Food Program, Community Foundation of Singapore, Willing Hearts, Srujna Charitable Trust. As the world begins to travel once again, Naumi Humanity looks forward to growing its mission and celebrating more community-focused milestones in the future.
